Frequently asked questions
Q. What's the average life expectancy for an air conditioner or furnace unit?
A. 15 to 20 Years

Q. How often should air filters be changed?
A. At least every 3 months, sometimes sooner

Q. How long does it take to replace an existing residential HVAC system?
A. Typically 1 day.

Q. Need of an air filter in AC unit?
A. Air filters are a key component of an HVAC system. The filter acts as a protective layer which passes all the air handled by the HVAC system and catches natural particles like dust, mold and fungal spores, pet dander, fabric fibers, etc. Dirt is the #1 cause of breakdowns with AC and heating systems. Clogged, dirty filters block normal airflow and reduce a system's efficiency significantly. Regular servicing of the air filter will improve your comfort and the efficiency of your air conditioner.
Q. How to reduce HVAC energy cost?
A. Energy costs fluctuate according to seasonal temperature changes. People spend far too much money on air conditioners to create a comfortable environment during seasonal temperature extremes. There are, however, some proactive steps you can take to reduce heating and cooling costs.
-
Perform proper annual maintenance of your HVAC system.
-
Change/clean air filters regularly
-
Use ceiling fans to circulate air
-
Adjust the temperature when you will be gone for more than a few hours.
-
Block heat from outside of your home using curtains and windows during the summer season to make the home easier to cool.
-
Upgrade to a high efficiency system

Q. Why Is My Air Conditioner Freezing?
A. Whether it's summer or winter, your air conditioner shouldn't have ice building up. When the ice blocks your air conditioner, it indicates one of two problems:
-
First, a dirty air filter could be the cause. When your air filter becomes excessively dirty it reduces air flow and lowers refrigerant pressures, this causes freezing.
-
Second, there could be a refrigerant leak. Leaking refrigerant can cause low pressure within your air conditioner and freeze the entire device.
